Fundraising Needs

Vogt Family Fund Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is pivotal in ensuring families facing financial challenges can access the critical services and support provided by the School of Imagination and Happy Talkers. By offering financial aid through initiatives like the Vogt Family Fund, we break down barriers and empower families to access essential therapies and educational programs for their children.

A New State-of-the-Art Playground

SOI envisions creating a new state-of-the-art playground that meets all our students' safety, social-emotional, and kinesthetic needs. The playground will also help our little ones make friends, use their bodies to learn, grow, and inspire their imagination and curiosity.

Site-wide Revitalization

We are embarking on a comprehensive site-wide revitalization project at the School of Imagination to create an enriched learning environment. This initiative involves enhancing and expanding our facilities investing in the latest learning and therapy equipment to provide our team and families with the utmost quality and support.

Accomplishments of 2023

  • Launching 'Sprouts' - A Beacon of Hope

Our groundbreaking clinical program, "Sprouts," designed to prepare children with autism for preschool, launched with remarkable success. The development of "Sprouts" was a five-year journey that involved contracting with insurers, expanding our team of Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists, including the addition of eight new Registered Behavioral Therapists (RBT) to support the preschool, seven new RBTs for clinical programs, and the inclusion of two new Board Certified Behavioral Analysts. We also navigated the complex world of insurance contracting, authorization, and revenue cycle management. With this program now in place, our goal is to refine and expand it throughout the community, reaching more than 1,000 children eagerly waiting for our services.

  • Partnership for a Safer and Growing Campus

With generous funding first made possible by former Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty, we developed the adjacent half-acre into 49 parking stalls with state-of-the-art security, drainage, lighting, and beautiful landscaping. This was a critical step to serve 60 more children each year and ensure the safety and accessibility of our campus. Although the project faced unforeseen challenges and delays due to the pandemic, the unwavering dedication of Dublin Mayor Melissa Hernandez championed the support needed for SOI. Together with Supervisor David Haubert, Mayor Hernandez helped secure Community Block Development Grant Funding, a monumental effort that the Dublin City Council approved to complete this project.

  • Empowering Families: The Vogt Family Fund's Impact on Accessible Education

We are proud to offer financial assistance to families through generous donations to the Vogt Family Fund. Initiated by MLB All-Star Stephen Vogt and his family, it has provided over 2,400 hours of essential therapy to families in need. Together, their efforts have contributed to a remarkable total fundraising amount exceeding $300,000.

Stephen Vogt, now serves as the Manager of the MLB Cleveland Guardians. The entire Vogt family remains deeply committed to the mission of making the School of Imagination accessible to more children. Watch Stephen’s Press Conference

These distinguished individuals bring a wealth of experience, passion, and a profound commitment to our mission, which will undoubtedly enrich our organization. Ari, a seasoned professional in workforce strategy, has been an integral part of our community for the past four years, leading pro bono consulting engagements to support SOI's mission and enhance our capabilities with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Joe Carlucci, PT, with over 40 years of healthcare expertise with Stanford ValleyCare and a strong commitment to community service, share our dedication to excellence and continuous improvement efforts.
