The School of Imagination was excited to unveil its new automated external defibrillator (AED) at a special ceremony on May 9th!
The AED will help SOI assist students like our very own Henry, who was born with Williams Syndrome, a genetic condition marked by heart defects. Funding for SOI’s new AED was provided by a host of generous donors. Safeway made a $1,000 contribution and the SOI community helped raise more the $600. In addition, thanks to the Oakland A’s, Medco Sports Medicine was able to provide the AED at a significantly reduced rate.
Joining us for this special ceremony were Henry and his mother, Natalia Erickson; SOI parent and Safeway employee Greg Ishii; and A’s All-Star Stephen Vogt and Head Athletic Trainer Nick Paparesta.
