With the volunteer support of pediatricians, therapists, and educators in the community, School of Imagination has provided thousands of families with free Autism and DD Early Detection, screenings and educational workshops.

The Happy Talkers Community Outreach Fair is now being developed by Speech Therapists across the nation.

Helping Families and School Districts Work Together with Joe Feldman

The Community Alliance for Special Education (CASE) was formed in 1979 to protect the lawful educational rights of children with disabilities by fostering the fair and just implementation of IDEA and state special education law. CASE advocacy staff, thoroughly trained in special education law, helps families and school districts work together when designing appropriate special education programs for students with disabilities, who are at risk for school failure, so they can succeed in school, get a job and become productive members of their community.

Autism Speaks - Roadmap to Additional Support and Services

with Marianne Toedtmann
Marianne Toedtmann, Assistant Director of Outreach and Resources for Autism Speaks, will discuss their Family Services support program. You will learn how to access the resources that Autism Speaks has available, such as the Autism Response Team, using the online resource database, accessing the online video glossary, and how to order a customized 100-day kit. Be sure to visit their Family Services Table in the Resource Library!

Dr. Erica Burhmann, Developmental Pediatrician from Children's Hospital Oakland will discuss critical developmental and educational milestones for children as well as the importance of early screening, diagnosis and intervention.
