Azi Gamez, B.S.
Preschool Director

Azi has been a wonderful addition to the Happy Talkers family since joining us in February 2005. Azi graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. During her years at UC Davis, she worked as a Para educator for an early intervention program for autism and PDD for the Yolo County Office of Education. When Azi returned to the Bay Area she began working at the Spectrum Center in San Pablo where she taught 18-22 year olds with developmental disabilities. Azi spends her spare time listening to music, shopping, and learning the art of photography.

Vanessa Venengas, B.S.

Vanessa has been with the team since September of 2005. She graduated with a degree in BS Psychology and majored in social services at Assumption College, Philippines in 2001. She then moved to the US and finished a second degree in Speech Language Pathology at Cal State, East Bay in 2005. She is one of the lead teachers in the Infant Development Program and Happy Scholars. On her spare time, she loves to read, listen to music and shop.

Erin Avila, B.S.
Preschool Teacher/Child Development Coordinator

Erin joined the Happy Talkers team in October 2005. She is a graduate of California State University at Chico where she earned dual majors in Social Science with a primary in Child Development and a secondary in Family Relations. She served as the Director for The Listening Clinic in Sacramento coordinating care of their Tomatis therapy clinic. In addition, Erin was involved in the U.C. Davis M.I.N.D. Institute “Effects of Tomatis” research study conducted by Dr. Deborah Swain. Erin's hobbies include camping, dancing, spending time with friends and family, and working out. Erin was recently married in October 2006 and lives in Pleasanton with her husband Rich and her cat Sophia.

Kimberly Alberty, B.S.
Preschool Teacher

Kimberly joined the team in June of 2005. She earned her BS at California State University, Hayward with a major in Speech Pathology & Audiology. During her education at Hayward State, she worked in the Early Childhood Education Center as an Early Childhood Educator with ages 4 months to 5 years old. Kimberly has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience with her as she came aboard and has quickly demonstrated her leadership skills from a Graduate Assistant to our Lead Teacher in our 2/3's preschool class. She is currently expanding her preschool knowledge by taking classes at a college near by. Kimberly currently lives in Berkley and in her spare time she loves to watch movies, go shopping, and spending time with her family.
